Thrive: Progress Update 3/5/2022

From Thrive: link to original post

This week’s development was largely focused on refactoring the microbe editor so that it’s functions could be reused in later stages, but we still got some work done for the microbe stage regardless. For the time being we have nothing to reveal about the multicellular prototype, but we intend to show off our results once sufficient progress has been made.

Programming

  • New DevBuild for our patrons:
    • Extinction music now starts earlier to sync up more dramatically with the appearing extinction text
    • AI now knows how to use the chemoreceptor to find compounds
    • Updated translations
  • The microbe editor scenes are being refactored so that important elements can be reused for later stage editors. This is important as the composition of your microbes will continue to play a vital role in your organism’s fitness in in later stages.
